2nd Reading on Rezoning of Cardinal Newman property delayed again

The second reading of the ordinance for the proposed rezoning of the Cardinal Newman High School property has again been deferred-- this time to a special city council meeting to be held at 5:15 PM on May 18, 2016. Prevously scheduled for the May 10, 2016 City Council Meeting, action by Forest Acres is again delayed as the city continues to await information on certain proposed traffic improvements in the Forest Drive corridor. The desired information is expected to be available to the city by May 18.

If You See Ribbons Around Trees in City Parks....

A certified arborist has inspected the condition of trees in the city's parks and has marked a number of them with ribbons to denote which ones need trimming. Please do not become alarmed by the presence of the ribbons.  THEY DO NOT MEAN THE TREES ARE COMING DOWN!  However, so of them require trimming so as not to present a hazard to park visitors.  If you have any questions about what's going on with the trees, please call City Hall.

Public Hearing on Cardinal Newman High School Redevelopment Tonight

The public hearing tonight is being hosted by A C Flora in their auditorium (a.k.a Theater, or as in the case of the public notice signs called- "Athletic Auditorium"). Parking is likely to be a problem as there are also basketball games at the school at 6:00 pm and 7:30 pm.  School officials recommend accessing the school and its auditorium from Brentwood Drive rather than Falcon Drive, and encourage those attending to exit the site from that same access; otherwise you may experience dificulty in trying to depart.
