Report A Concern

Some residential issues fall outside of the purview of the City of Forest Acres. To help you, we've compiled a list of frequently asked questions to connect you with the responsible agency.

Where do I report a problem with...

The City of Columbia supplies water to the City of Forest Acres. Thus, the Columbia Water Department is who you need to contact to report a problem with drinking water, wastewater or storm water. The phone number to call is 803-545-3300. We encourage residents to download the MYCOLASC app, which can be used to find the most up to date information on your current water issues. MyColumbiaSC is free to download and available now on both Android and Apple devices.

Roads in the City of Forest Acres are maintained and managed by the South Carolina Department of Transportation. This is true for most roads across the state. To report a traffic light out, you can submit a road maintenance work request online here.

Street lights in Forest Acres are managed and maintained by Dominion Energy. To report a light in need of repair, you can call 800-251-7234.

Fire hydrants sometimes must be flushed to maintain the line and we understand the amount of water can be a bit shocking. If you believe there is a problem, you should contact the Richland County Ombudsman at 803-929-6000.

Stray dogs can be reported to Richland County Animal Care by calling 803-929-6000.

Animal Care will not pick up stray cats. However, residents can volunteer to participate in the Humane Society of South Carolina's Urban Cat program which offers free spay/neutering services through a catch and release program held on "Feral Friday".

Wildlife like raccoons, coyotes, foxes, etc. should be reported the the Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Division at 803-734-3886.
