Garbage and Recycling Questions?

Posted Friday, November 20, 2020

Great news! Just in time for the holidays, we are officially launching Waste Wizard on our website. With this tool, we hope to eliminate any confusion about garbage, recycling, and debris pickup. Every property in the City can print a customized schedule that includes any changes due to holidays. You can also sign up for email or text reminders! Help us spread the word by sharing this post with your neighbors.

There is also a searchable database to tell you how to properly dispose of any kind of waste. Select waste wizard, then insert the name of whatever you want to dispose of and follow the instructions.

Forest Acres Remembers JC Rowe

Posted Monday, October 12, 2020

With heavy hearts, elected officials and staff of the City of Forest Acres announce the passing of a long-time public servant, unmatched in his influence on our community. JC Rowe worked in law enforcement in various municipalities from 1956 to 1994, culminating in his appointment as Chief of Police in Forest Acres from 1978 to 1994. His dedication to the City did not stop once he retired from the Police Department, though. In 1995, he was elected Mayor and held the position until he retired once more in 2003. Much of what makes our community a safe, desirable place to live, work, and play has its foundation in his many years of leadership. He also served as the Executive Director of the SC Police Chiefs’ Association from 1994 to 2011. For his numerous contributions to the City of Forest Acres and to the State of South Carolina, he was awarded the Order of the Palmetto in 2001. Chief Rowe will be remembered fondly and missed by many in the Forest Acres community.
