Police Officer - Certified Applicant

Starting Salary: $52,744

Applies to a South Carolina Certified Officer working less than three years. Salary reflects working our standard shifts of 84 hours bi-weekly.

Three Years of Service Salary: $54,251

Applies to a South Carolina Certified Officer with three years of service in-state. Salary reflects working our standard shifts of 84 hours bi-weekly.

Six Years of Service Salary: $55,823

Applies to a South Carolina Certified Officer with six years of service in-state. Salary reflects working our standard shifts of 84 hours bi-weekly.

 

POLICE OFFICER CANDIDATE (NON-CERTIFIED APPLICANT)

Starting Salary: $43,811

Cadet in training to become a South Carolina Certified Officer. Salary reflects our standard shifts of 84 hours bi-weekly.

Certification Salary: $52,744

Upon graduation from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy. Salary reflects our standard shifts of 84 hours bi-weekly.

VACATION

FAPD Officers with one (1) through four (4) years of continuous service earn 96 hours of vacation per year.

FAPD Officers with five (5) through fourteen (14) years of continuous service earn 128 hours of vacation per year.

FAPD Officers with fifteen (15) plus years of continuous service earn 160 hours of vacation per year.

Military leave

FAPD officers receive fifteen (15) calendar days annually to fulfill military obligations.

Retirement

FAPD Officers are in the South Carolina Police Retirement System after twenty-eight (28) years of service.
