The City of Forest Acres is announcing an updated event date for Lexington Health’s Sweet Seasons. Due to the weather forecast for Tuesday, which would significantly impact event setup and preparations, Sweet Seasons has been moved to Wednesday, December 3, 2025. This schedule adjustment ensures that vendors, performers, and staff have the safe conditions and adequate time required to prepare for a successful community celebration.

This beloved tradition continues to grow each year, offering families a joyful way to welcome the holiday season with music, treats, and community spirit—right in the heart of Forest Acres. The evening will once again feature the beloved Christmas tree lighting countdown, hosted by the Forest Acres City Council.
This year, Sweet Seasons is proud to offer an evening of completely free family fun, featuring free face painting, free balloon animals, free hot chocolate sponsored by Lowes Foods, free photos with Santa and The Grinch, a kids’ coloring station, and a Letters to the North Pole table. Families can enjoy holiday magic without spending a dime.
“Sweet Seasons is one of the most cherished nights of the year in Forest Acres,” said Mayor Tom Andrews. “It brings together our students, families, and local businesses for an evening of hometown pride and holiday celebration.”
Lexington Health returns this year as the primary sponsor of Sweet Seasons for the second consecutive year. Their support reflects a deep investment in community wellness, family enrichment, and local traditions that make Forest Acres feel like home. “Lexington Health is an outstanding community partner,” said Mayor Andrews. “Their commitment to supporting family-centered events like Sweet Seasons helps strengthen our city and ensures we can continue offering free, high-quality celebrations for everyone.”
“We are honored to support Sweet Seasons again this year,” said Thomas Tafel, Director of Community Health for Lexington Health. “This event reflects the very best of what makes Forest Acres special—families gathering, neighborhoods connecting, and a community celebrating together. We’re proud to play a part in bringing this tradition to life.”
