Flood Assistance, Mitigation, and Recovery programs

See the following helpful information from the SC Department of Natural Resources:

  • Anyone that is in a county that has received a disaster declaration can receive Individual Assistance from FEMA, up to $33,000.  To apply and to check for updated disaster declaration information, go to www.disasterassistance.gov or call 1-800-621-FEMA.  
  • FEMA also offers the Increased Cost of Compliance (ICC) program for those with flood insurance on a substantially damaged home who need to bring their home into compliance, carrying a benefit of up to $30,000.  Go to http://www.fema.gov/increased-cost-compliance-coverage for more information

  • Finally, the United Way is offering non-emergency assistance to those that are not in an emergency situation.  Dial 2-1-1 any time for up-to-date information about access to community resources, supportive listening, and crisis intervention.
