The City is actively pursuing a number of projects that will enhance the livability of our community.
New Landmark Park
The City of Forest Acres continues to advance plans for the new six-acre park at the sight of the former Richland Mall. Amenities at the park will include an amphitheater, a grand lawn, two buildings for events, a state of the art playground, a reading garden, passive bench swings, and a rock water feature. Recent design updates include refined architectural elements such as weathered brick, iron and bronze accents, and classic southern architectural detailing. With demolition now complete, the park will serve as a centerpiece alongside a $100 million mixed-use redevelopment, with construction expected to begin following the bid process this fall.
