Holiday Schedules:
The sanitation and streets departments usually only observe New Years Day, Martin Luther King Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. If a day of collection early in the week falls on one of these holidays, each missed day of collection will be made up the following day. For instance, Martin Luther King Day is observed every third Monday in January. That week Monday’s collection will be Tuesday; Tuesday’s collection will be Wednesday. The remaining routes on Thursday and Friday will be collected as scheduled. If the holiday falls on a Thursday, collection will usually be on Wednesday, if it falls on or Friday, and then collection is Thursday.
