2% Hospitality Tax
The City of Forest Acres collects a 2% on prepared foods from restaurants within the city. The HTAX funds support a number of community projects that contribute to growth of HTAX revenue, boost awareness of Forest Acres' identity as " a city apart" and help fund projects that make Forest Acres a wonderful place in which to work and live.
HTAX APPLICATION POLICY REVISION
Effective March 13, 2012, the City of Forest Acres will not accept any grant applications for Hospitality Tax funding until after July 1, 2013. The purpose of this moratorium is to reset the grant process so that City Council's future consideration of allocations of funds are based on previously received HTAX income rather than granting based on anticipated revenue.
This change in policy is intended to improve the efficiency of administration of the annual Hospitality Tax budget. In the meantime, The City of Forest Acres may continue to invest in city initiated projects.
